Course Description:
This course is a bridge course from intermediate to advanced Japanese language. It continues development of proficiency in interpersonal, interpretive and presentational modes of communication in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Students develop communication strategies and cultural knowledge to prepare for advanced courses. Taught in Japanese. (Credit/No Credit Available)
Reflective Narrative:
Having failed my prior Japanese class, this course allowed me to rebuild my confidence in Japanese by taking a class that was more at my level. In this class we learned and used intermediate level Japanese in tests, presentations, and day-to-day class activities, helping to fulfill MLO 1. Having gained considerable knowledge from my last class, despite failing it, I was able to easily do well in this class. The self confidence I gained in this class prompted me to do a second study abroad experience, which I enjoyed thouroughly. When I returned, I found myself able to pass classes of the same level I had initially failed. I see Japanese 300 as the beginning of my real rise toward where I am now, confident in my Japanese, and desirous to improve as much as possible.
