Reflective Narrative: This class continued my learning of Japanese and helped me fulfill MLO 1. After doing well in 102 through a cross-enrollment program at MPC, I was motivated to continue moving forward and improving my knowledge of Japanese. Surrounded by my culture courses and new to the college, I threw myself into my studies and learned a lot of the basics of Japanese language. Through constant testing in a variety of ways, this course ensured I kept all the knowledge I gained current. This course helped prepare me for my studies at Nagoya, and because of what I remembered from it, I was able to communicate comfortably. Although it is a strange thing to remember fondly, I greatly enjoyed doing the final project: a little book in Japanese that I read and presented for the final. I still have that book, with charming illustrations drawn by my fiancé, to remind me of my first semester at CSUMB.
